New Reverse 911 Program to be Launched in March:
Jefferson County Emergency Communications Authority Board has announced a new program that will allow Voice over IP (VoIP) and Wireless Telephones (Cells) to be registered for use in notifications when the registered address is impacted by a disaster or emergency. This is similar to the program when a 911 Center sends out an emergency message to a specific geographical area for fire or law enforcement agencies with a recorded message to hardwired phones within a specific area.
Citizens will be able to register more than one phone number for an address to be notified. Each number can only be associated with one address in the system.
Please watch for more updates as they become available.
